HAAS® Alarm 151 — CABINET OVERHEAT

What it means
The electrical cabinet has gone over its safe operating temperature. The machine throttles or stops to prevent damage to electronics.
Common causes
- Cabinet cooling fans dirty or failed
- Cabinet filter blocked
- Ambient shop temperature very high
- Heat exchanger or chiller failed
What to check first
- Check the cabinet filter — replace or clean if it looks dusty
- Confirm both cabinet fans are spinning
- Make sure nothing is blocking airflow around the back of the machine
Prevention
Cabinet maintenance is the quiet hero. A 5-minute filter clean every fortnight prevents the vast majority of cabinet-temperature and drive-temperature alarms. Replace cabinet filters at the schedule the manual specifies, not when they look clogged — by then they're already restricting airflow.
