HAAS® Alarm 119 — OVERVOLTAGE

What it means
Mains supply voltage to the machine has gone above the safe upper limit, or the regen circuit is dumping too much energy back.
Common causes
- Incoming supply voltage too high
- Regen resistor failed or disconnected (usually paired with alarm 122)
- Heavy braking from a high-mass spindle stop with regen issue
What to check first
- Check supply voltage with a meter (or have an electrician do it)
- If paired with 122, the regen resistor is likely the culprit — service call
Prevention
Cabinet maintenance is the quiet hero. A 5-minute filter clean every fortnight prevents the vast majority of cabinet-temperature and drive-temperature alarms. Replace cabinet filters at the schedule the manual specifies, not when they look clogged — by then they're already restricting airflow.
