Squidex Solutions Ltd is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by or sponsored by Haas Automation, Inc. This page explains exactly how and why we refer to the HAAS® name.
Ownership of the mark
HAAS® is a registered trademark of Haas Automation, Inc. All rights in that mark belong to Haas Automation, Inc. Haas Factory Outlet is likewise their trading name. We claim no rights in either, and nothing on this website should be read as asserting any.
We are independent
Squidex Solutions Ltd (company number 10695481, registered in England and Wales) is an independent engineering business. We are not a Haas Factory Outlet, not an authorised Haas dealer, not an approved Haas service agent, and have no commercial relationship of any kind with Haas Automation, Inc.
Choosing an independent service provider may have implications for any manufacturer warranty still running on your machine. That is your decision to make, and we would rather you make it knowing the position.
Why we use the name at all
We service HAAS® CNC machines. There is no way to tell you that without naming the machines. UK law recognises this: under section 11(2) of the Trade Marks Act 1994, a registered mark is not infringed by use that is necessary to indicate the intended purpose of a service — in particular for spare parts and repair services — provided the use is in accordance with honest practices.
So we use the HAAS® name descriptively, to identify the machines and components we work on. We do not use it as our own brand. Our brand is Squidex, our logo is our own, and we have deliberately avoided any styling that resembles Haas Automation’s own marks or livery.
Parts, and how we describe them
- Haas part numbers appear on this site for identification only, so you can confirm we are talking about the same component.
- Parts we supply through Exchange & Repair are refurbished units, described as such. We do not present refurbished parts as new, and we do not describe anything as “genuine Haas” unless it is a genuine Haas part.
- Where we supply or fit a component, we say plainly whether it is an original part, a refurbished original, or an equivalent.
Who provides the warranty
Any warranty on parts or work supplied by Squidex is given by Squidex Solutions Ltd alone. Haas Automation, Inc. provides no warranty, guarantee or support in respect of our work, and has no liability for it. Where we describe our warranty period as matching the equivalent new Haas part, we mean only that we have chosen to match that duration — the warranty itself is ours, and you would claim against us.
Our alarm code guides
The alarm code explanations on this site are written by us in our own words. Alarm numbers and their short on-screen titles are statements of fact about the machine. The descriptions, causes and checks are our own engineering commentary and are not reproduced from any Haas manual or copyrighted publication. They are general guidance, they vary by model and software revision, and they are not a substitute for the official operator manual or a qualified engineer.
