Squidex is building a small network of self-employed HAAS® CNC engineers across the UK, for breakdown response, servicing and our 24-hour Exchange & Repair service. We’re early-stage and we’d rather say so than oversell it.
Who we are
Squidex Solutions is run by Keith Davies and Mark. Keith is the engineer and the person customers speak to; Mark handles the business side. We’re starting from Watford and the Home Counties and growing outward as the work justifies it.
What the work looks like
- Fitting exchange parts from our loaner stock — vector drives, servo amps, control boards — and proving the machine, usually within 24 hours of the customer’s call.
- General HAAS® breakdown diagnosis and repair on VF, VM, Mini Mill, UMC, ST and DS machines.
- Scheduled servicing and health checks.
Who we’re looking for
Self-employed engineers with real hands-on HAAS® experience. Retired or semi-retired engineers who want occasional, well-paid work near home are exactly who we have in mind. You’ll need your own tools, a vehicle, and public liability insurance (or the willingness to arrange it).
How it works
Fill in the form. We’ll only contact you when there is genuine work in your area, and every job is quoted to the customer at a fixed price before anyone sets off — so you know what the day is worth before you accept it. You stay independent; we handle the customer, the parts and the invoicing.
